Issue

  • The purpose of this article is to help alleviate potential UI issues that appear after the installation of a hotfix or fixpack using Liferay's Patching Tool.
  • For example, after installing a hotfix or fixpack that intends to resolve a UI issue, you are observing the same behavior or unexpected UI results.

Environment

  • Liferay Portal 6.2, Liferay DXP 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2

Resolution

  • In many cases, UI issues can be resolved by performing the following steps after patching your Liferay environment:
    • Clear the contents of $LIFERAY.HOME/osgi/state
    • Clear the contents of your application server's temporary files directory (e.g., in Tomcat, it's in the temp and work directories)
    • Clear your browser's cache and temporary files
  • Once these steps have been completed, restart your Liferay server, and ensure the proper functioning of the UI.

If you are still seeing issues with the interface, or with the UI, please raise a ticket on Liferay Help Center, and our Customer Support team will be happy to assist you further.
