The Liferay Inc. catalog contains fully supported applications from Liferay in these categories:

Liferay Labs
Liferay Labs is a hub for new ideas containing new technology and features, and its catalog offers experimental applications under development. These apps may become future parts of Liferay’s core platform. Some of these applications are installed as beta features. Because of the catalog’s experimental nature, you may experience bugs or incomplete features in these applications. We encourage you to give feedback to help developers decide if the app should be implemented or deprecated.
Liferay Community
Deprecated apps that no longer ship with Liferay appear in this catalog, along with applications created and offered for free under an open source license. Deprecated apps remain available for download and installation, but no longer receive enhancements. Support is provided until the latest compatible Liferay version.

Catalogs Comparison
Liferay updates its apps quarterly until they are no longer functional or supported. When a release reaches the end of its extended premium support, it is removed from Marketplace.
