Account Entry Validation

Reviewing Account Validation Results

Liferay DXP 2026.Q3+ Release Feature

Open an order’s Account Validation Results window to read the buying account’s validation history and, when a check didn’t pass, to record a manual validation. See Account Entry Validation for what the validator verifies and which results each channel mode blocks.

An instance administrator must enable the Account Entry Validation and VIES Validator (LPD-89850) release feature flag before the icon appears.

Opening the Results Window

The Account Info section of an order’s General tab shows an icon beside the account name. The icon reports the account’s validation state. You see it when at least one validator is enabled and you have the Manage Accounts Scoped Orders permission for the account.

IconMeaning
Check circle Green check markEvery check passed, or a manual validation was recorded.
Warning Red warningA check failed or reported a technical failure.
Information Blue informationA validator skipped the account.
Clock ClockA validator hasn’t run yet.
  1. Open the Global Menu (Global Menu) → Commerce → Orders.

  2. Click the Order ID.

  3. On the General tab, click the validation icon next to the account name.

The Account Validation Results window opens with the account’s History panel.

The Account Validation Results window shows the Validate Account panel above the History panel, where a failed validation appears.

Reading the Validation History

The History panel lists the account’s results for this order’s billing address, beginning with the most recent. Each row gives the Result, Message, Class Name, Created By, and Date. Class Name names the validator that produced the result. Use the Filter control to narrow the list by Result or by Class Name. See Validation Results for a description of each result.

Note

An unregistered VAT number and a technical failure can carry the same message, “An unexpected error occurred while validating the VAT number.” The Result column shows FAILURE for an unregistered number and WARNING for a technical failure.

The history spans every order placed with the same billing address, because a result is keyed to the account and the billing address rather than to the order. Skipped checks are not recorded. A skipped account and an account whose validators haven’t run yet both show an empty History panel.

The GET /o/account/validator-results REST endpoint returns these records. A result that reached the European Commission’s VAT Information Exchange System (VIES) also stores the request and response in the record’s data field. The panel’s own query filters by account, validator class name, and billing address, so an unfiltered call returns results for every account the caller can see, not only this one. In the response, resultStatus names the result. resultMessage holds a language key for failed and warning results and the administrator’s notes for manual results.

Recording a Manual Validation

Correcting the account’s Tax ID resolves a check that failed because of a wrong or missing one. Only record a manual validation when correcting the Tax ID isn’t possible, such as during a VIES outage.

The Validate Account panel appears when a validator hasn’t run yet or returned FAILURE or WARNING.

  1. Enter your reason in the required Additional Notes field.

  2. Click Save.

The result appears in the History panel as MANUAL and the account counts as validated without a new VIES check. The buyer repeats the checkout step to place the order.

Important

Every later order using the same billing address reuses this result until the Check Interval elapses. Record one only after confirming the account’s VAT status by other means.
